They took their time in getting married and maybe that’s why Angelina Jolie bought her new hubby, Brad Pitt, a watch as a present for their big day last month. (Dad joke.)

The 1952 £2million platinum timepiece is by Patek Philippe, who is presumably some kind of very good watch maker. We’ll Google it later.

The gift was revealed when a friend of the couple, who got married 23 August, took the watch to be inscribed with the words “To Roly from Nessa”.

Roly and Nessa are the slightly lame character names the newlyweds play in their new film, By The Sea, which they’re currently working on together in Malta.

The shop owner doing the inscription confirmed the watch is “for Brad, and it was a rare one.” He added “It was very valuable.”

Brad, 50, and Angelina, 39, were together nine years before finally tying the knot in front of their herd of children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, Knox, 6, and Vivienne, 6, at Chataeu Miraval in the south of France.
