TOIME IS A FLART COIRCLE news now, and pair-of-eyebrows-with-an-actor-attached person Colin Farrell has confirmed he will be taking the lead in season two of HBO’s True Detective.

The former Ballykissangel star confirmed to Sunday World (???) that he would be taking up the much coveted McConaughey role in the upcoming series, saying: “I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited.”

He added, Irishly: “I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.”

Cast rumours have been swirling since the first eight-part series came to a close, with approximately one hundred million actors being linked with the reported three lead roles available. It was thought the new show would see at least two female leads — with Jessica Chastain and Elizabeth Moss being linked with a role — which will be set in California and, uh, be about the “secret occult history of the United States transportation system”, according to showrunner Nic Pizzolatto. So: a load of murderers on a train.

Anyway it will be out in 2015 and we basically can’t wait.
