Celebs are usually showered with freebies meaning it’s easy for them to keep up with the latest trend and even if they aren’t, they’ve usually got stupid amounts of cash stashed under the bed, or in their pants, or wherever.
But if you’re a star of The Only Way Is Essex it may be a bit more difficult to kit yourself out with designer clobber as the cast are only rumoured to be paid a nominal fee for taking part. So spare a thought for poor, poor former cast member Joey Essex – he’s developed a shopping obsession and spends a whopping £7,000 a month on clothes.
Joey gave The Sun’s Fabulous magazine a tour of his home and it was discovered the reem reality star has a walk-in wardrobe stuffed with designer items. His closet is described as being “like a designer clothing outlet” while the rest of his house is probably exactly as you would imagine as “crocodile skins adorn every inch of wall space”.
And while Joey may spend crazy amounts on his outfits, he’s not completely wasteful – he owns a second-hand pair of Airmax 97 trainers which he’s stuck back together with glue. Meanwhile, Joey, who owns his own Essex boutique Fusey, goes on to show he’s not completely wasteful, admitting he only opened his shop so his friend’s mum could have a job.
Speaking about his best pal Jake’s mum Tracey Hudson, he said: “The only reason I opened Fusey was because she didn’t have a job. Now she’s alright. She’s on a good wage and living in a nice house. I’ve always looked after her and she’s always looked after me.” It’s like he’s some kind of incredibly well dressed reality TV saint!
