Poor Liza Minnelli isn’t having the best year, is she? First she gets shoved aside during THAT Oscars selfie, meaning she wasn’t involved in the most retweeted image of all time, and now she’s managed to get a severe back injury after picking up her actual dog.
The 68-year-old actress had been looking after her pooches at home when one of them made her trip over and fall, damaging her spine. Ouch.
“I was picking up my dogs and they jumped,” she told the New York Post’s Page Six. “And I got twisted and fell. I thought it’s nothing. But it wasn’t nothing. It became something. The operation’s next week.
“After an X-ray, seems I busted it and have to have it fused.”
It’s not the first time Liza’s done terrible things to her skeleton – she also damaged her spine a few years ago and had to use a wheelchair until she got better.
This most recent accident meant that the Oscar winner couldn’t go to her friend Joan Rivers’ funeral at the weekend, which she said was really disappointing.
“I desperately wanted to [go] because I loved her - but I couldn’t go because I can’t walk. I’m in bed. Going in for surgery.”
Poor old Liza. Get better soon, yeah? And maybe think about investing in an outside kennel?
