Stage and TV star Lynda Bellingham has revealed she has just a few more weeks left to live because her colon cancer has spread to the rest of her body.
The 66-year-old actress has taken the decision to stop her chemotherapy treatment in November and says she wants to enjoy one last Christmas with her family.
Writing in her memoir, There's Something I've Been Dying To Tell You, the Loose Women panellist said: "I can't organise the moment of my death. I'm not scared of dying. Dying is much worse for the people left behind.
"If I could have a little moment to say goodbye to them all and the do the old morphine and just go to sleep, that would be fine. I just want to get it over - I'm a very tidy person."
She also admitted that she has already planned her own funeral and wants a big party for all of her friends and family when she goes.
The actress, who starred in the 1980s iconic OXO adverts, was diagnosed with the disease 14 months ago and was told then that "she wasn't going to die".
Later, when it became clear that the cancer had spread, Lynda started chemotherapy in an attempt to keep the worst of the tumours at bay.
But she has now decided to stop further medical treatment and wants her husband, Michael Pattermore, to find happiness after she dies.
"Please don’t think I am giving up for the sake of a few ulcers, it is the fact my body has started to rot, and I promised myself as soon as that happened I would make a plan. I want my family to remember me whole," Lynda continues in her book.
"I want you all to remember me."
