It’s been revealed that Sam Bailey is not quite the inexperienced singer that the programme made her out to be.
Having wowed the judges and audiences with her two performances over the weekend, it turns out she’s no stranger to the stage. She has worked as a professional singer on cruise ships and has previously sung with the likes of Lulu, Jane McDonald and Beverley Knight.
Sam, 35, told X Factor host Dermot O’Leary that she’d never auditioned before and that she hasn’t done much singing. Turns out she has also auditioned for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent before.
“She has mislead the public. She tried out for X Factor seven or eight years ago. She should be honest. She made is sound like she’s a shy beginner. She has untold experience,” an unnamed colleague has told The Sun.
