According to reports, Simon Cowell wants Mel B to have a fall out with fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to up the drama stakes.

The music mogul wants to draw in viewers by increasing the tension between the two feisty northerners.

According to an insider, Simon was hoping for fireworks between the two ex-girl band members, but instead Mel and Chezza have been getting on like a house on fire.

A source admitted to the Mirror: “Cheryl and Mel B surprised everyone with how well they got on.We expected a cat fight. It’s disappointing.

“They want to create friction between the girls. Simon is very keen. He wants them to be competitive.”

The talent show is famous for judges’ behind-the-scenes conflict, such as ex-judges Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue’s infamous feud.

Would you rather see Mel and Chezza continue as besties? Or pulling each other’s hair out over song choices and ‘creative’ decisions?

We’ll have to keep watching to see which way their budding friendship goes…
