Olympian and hot ginger Greg Rutherford announces birth of a lovely baby boy!
Lovely, lovely baby news this morning, as Olympian Greg Rutherford revealed he and long-term girlfriend Susie Verrill have had a baby boy, their first child together.
Ahhhhh.
Greg – Olympic, European and Commonwealth long jump champion and super-hot ginger – welcomed the baby on Monday and posted a picture of some teeny tiny hands on Twitter, saying: “Happiest day of my life”.
Susie also posted the picture, saying: “And then there were three”.
The couple have yet to officially reveal the little tot’s name, but Susie’s brother Paddy let the cat out of the bag, posting on Twitter: “Congratulations to my sister @rugbycupcakes and @GregJRutherford on the birth of baby Milo! He's beautiful.” The tweet has now been deleted though.
Greg claimed earlier this year that being a dad will only help him be a better athlete. “Will I be better after baby? I genuinely do think so,” he told the Daily Mirror. “In some sports they call it the nappy factor.
“Most athletes have said to me that you stop worrying about the little things in training and bits and bobs that got you worked up before. You have another reason to relax, enjoy and have a bit more fun.”
Hmmm… we’re not sure about how the lack of sleep factors in all that, but still. Lovely news.
