The couple got back together in March following nearly a year apart, but the pair have been plagued with break-up rumours over the past few months.
According to reports, Joey, 24, and Sam, 23, have been apart from each other for a few weeks and their split has been peaceful and mutual.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: "The break-up has been very civil as they both just realised they couldn't make things work.
"They sat down a couple of weeks ago and both agreed things weren't working. There was no big dramatic reason for the split, as it was more that they are both in different places in their lives.
"They will definitely stay friends and still see a lot of each other as they have many mutual pals."
The alleged split comes as a shock to fans as former TOWIE star Sam was talking marriage and kids just a few days ago, describing Joey as 'the love of my life'.
