Suicide Squad tells the story on ‘’supervillians’ who have been put together as a black ops team for the US government.

Stars such as Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Ryan Gosling and Cara Delevingne have also allegedly been linked to the project.

When asked about his interest in the role of Joker (which was last played by the late Heath Ledger- who won a posthumous Oscar for his performance) Leto’s silence spoke louder than words.

He said: "You know there's a film called Fight Club. You know what the first rule is, don't you? Enough said."

Jared was referring to Fight Club co-star Brad Pitt’s famous line: "The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club."

The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman added: "I've been reading scripts. It was a pretty incredible last year. There was this cool event called the Oscars.

"That basically changed my life [and for] a wonderful film that I was proud to be a part of - Dallas Buyers Club. I'm not really in a hurry to jump into another film, unless it's something that I absolutely can't say no to.

"I want to make sure it's special because the previous experiences were really, really special. Fortunately, I have music and other things in my life that keep me really busy, and I'm grateful for that."
