Sad Christmas Eve news now. Helena Boham Carter and Tim Burton, her film director partner have split up.
The eccentric American director, 56, and the 48-year-old actress first met on the set of Planet Of The Apes back in 2001, they've been together for thirteen years, although they lived in seperate homes, next door to each other in North London.
The couple's spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: "Tim Burton and Helena Boham Carter seperated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children. We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time."
Sources told the Daily Mail that Helena is terribly upset and only broke the news to their children - ten-year-old Billy Ray and Nell who is 6 - around two weeks ago.
Since working on their first film together the pair have collaborated on a host of movies, inlcuding Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Alice In Wonderland and Dark Shadows.
Previous interviews confirmed the couple have a tunnel that leads between their two properties, not quite the drank, dungeon-esque walkway you might expect, but rather a big, light and airy corridoor.
She's currently working on a sequel to Alice In Wonderland, With Tim working as producer. We're sure they'll still stay close - it's probably hard not to when your ex literally lives next door.
