Ed Sheeran let loose in Top Gear’s reasonably priced car – but he CANNOT drive

We’re not saying Ed Sheeran can’t drive in a demeaning way.

It’s just that in the real life Ed Sheeran actually can’t drive.

All we'll say is thank heavens for other road users that he was on a racing track in the middle of Surrey, at Dunsfold Aerodrome, when he got behind the wheel.

The Thinking Out Loud singer took part in Top Gear’s reasonably priced car segment of the show and from the looks of it, and whispers coming from the track, it took a LONG time for him to get to grips with it.

It isn't surprising really, because Ed doesn't drive (we say it again...) and because of the fact he's previously admitted he's scared of going in fast cars.

Luckily for him it was a Vauxhall Astra and not a Bugatti Veyron.

In one part of the slot, Ed appears to have become a tad confused about where he should have been heading so just launched the car onto the grass before speeding off over it. Oh and then he crashed.

Still, he seemed pretty happy about it, telling his fans on Twitter: “Had a brilliant time filming top gear today. Tune in on Sunday.”

Er, we definitely will be.

The show airs on Sunday 25 January at 8pm, on BBC2.
