National Television Awards 2015: EVERYTHING you need to know about the NTAs

Tonight marks the 20th anniversary of the National Television Awards, and here at heat Towers we are going WILD. There’s a massive cardboard cut-out of NTA host Dermot O’Leary with lipstick kisses all over his face in the corner, and one of our editors just had a full-on breakdown about what shoes she’s going to wear on the red carpet and stormed out.

And it’s only going to get worse, so before we all explode in a cloud of excitement and booze, here are ALL the answers to the questions YOU’VE been asking about the NTAs 2015.

What time are the NTAs?

The ceremony itself starts at 7.30pm on ITV – but heatworld will be streaming the red carpet arrivals LIVE from 6.30pm. Catch all the pre-awards gossip, best and worst dressed, plus we’ve got our very own Lucie Cave interviewing the celebrities behind the scenes at the show.

We’ll also have a live blog here on heatworld from 6.30pm to bring you live NTAs stuff as it happens. LIVE.

How can I watch the NTAs live?

If you fancy tussling with a couple of burly security guards, you could try showing up at London’s O2 Arena without a ticket. But it’s probs best to watch it on ITV, where there’s a much lower risk of being beaten to a pulp for attempting to hug Olivia Coleman’s legs…

Watch the ceremony from 7.30pm to 10pm on ITV, but make sure you come back to heatworld for all the behind the scenes gossip, and awesome videos of the stars looking super-dressy on the red carpet.

I need pictures of the best and worst dressed at the NTAs. Where can I see them, please?

Who’s going to win at the NTAs?

If only we knew . heat’s Boyd Hilton is the man in the know, and he’s given his predictions based on the NTAs nominations right here. He reckons Game Of Thrones will take the Multichannel gong and Benedict Cumberbatch will win the award for best Drama Performance for his sterling work in Sherlock. QUITE RIGHT TOO. Why is everyone going on about Lucy Beale?

Have you ACTUALLY been living in a cave? EastEnders’ bosses are going to be revealing a MAJOR clue about who killed the soap teenager during tonight’s NTAs – and as the secret is so closely guarded, it’s going to be brought all the way across London and handed to Dermot on stage by one of the aforementioned burly security guards.

Will Mary Berry and Simon Cowell physically fight?

GOD we hope so. They’re both up for a gong in the brand new Best Judge category, with Mazza Bezza slightly edging it with her delightfully smutty comments on Great British Bake Off. And we reckon she’d well take Si on the red carpet. Get some popcorn ready just in case.

Who’s going to be there?

EVERYONE. Literally EVERYONE. Benedict Cumberbatch and his newly pregnant fiancée Sophie Hunter will be schlepping up the red carpet, then there’ll be Ant and Dec, Keith Lemon, the whole Geordie Shore cast (and Charlotte Crosby has already said she’ll get naked if the reality show picks up an award), Dame Maggie Smith, Danny Dyer, Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, ALL the EastEnders cast and Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini with her husband Jean-Bernard, David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone… WE COULD GO ON.

With the sad death of Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride earlier this week, the NTAs will be devoting a whole segment to her honour. Expect the Corrie cast to come out in full, and they’ll probably do something nice to remember her.

I’ve heard Kris Jenner’s going to be there. Why?

We guess because she asked and they said yes? Nah – she’ll be presenting an award. And it’s heat’s mission to chat to her on the red carpet to find out what she’s REALLY like under that skin-stretched-so-tight-you-could-actually-play-her-like-a-drum face.
