Going Clear: Scientology And The Prison Of Belief premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday and alongside some pretty disturbing revelations and hard hitting interviews with former members of the church there was a fair bit of coverage about Tom.

Alongside footage of Tom dancing and singing at a Scientology Birthday party (it’s a bit weird), the makers of the documentary claim that when the Mission Impossible actor met Nicole (on the set of Days Of Thunder in the 1990’s) and they fell in love – things turned sour quickly.

According to the film, Nicole was labelled a PTS (a potential trouble source) because her dad was a psychiatrist and that when the church believed she was taking Tom “away” from them, they tried to get him back.

This included “stirring up” paranoia with Tom which they alleged led him to tap Nicole’s phone because he worried she was discussing their personal life to people outside of the church.

So, so creepy…
