Ariana Grande would have had literally everything in her body crossed for a brilliant opening night of her Honeymoon tour** – so when she “cheated death” during her first show it must have come as a bit of a shock.
The Problem singer admitted she could have been crushed when she got caught in a malfunctioning lift during the opening performance in Kansas City on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old singer was performing her song, Love Me Harder, when she got caught in the elevator, and things got hairy when the wooden platform snapped from a horizontal to a vertical position.
She had to manoeuvre herself, while keeping hold of the microphone, so she couldn’t get injured by the metal mechanics before her crew rescued her. SCARY!
Ariana explained what happened in a vlog after the gig.
But she continued like a trooper to complete the show, the first of several dates in North America and Canada.
Ariana will then bring the tour to Europe, with gigs in France, Germany, Sweden and the UK.
