Fifty Shades Of Grey star Dakota Johnson has been forced to deny that the BDSM film is misogynistic and glorifies abuse of women at its premiere in Berlin.
Speaking to reporters at last night's red carpet event, Dakota said those who believe it portrays a violent relationship are "close-minded".
"No person is abused in the movie," she said. "It's a close-minded outlook.
"It's a love story," she added.
Director Sam Taylor-Johnson agreed. "I feel like I empower this woman," she said.
"I give her the final word and the message is very strong. The end message is really no when someone crosses the line."
Fifty Shades hits cinemas in the UK tomorrow (Friday 13 February).
