How celebrities honoured International Women's Day on social media

A whole host of celebrities have been honouring International Women's Day today.

Emma Watson, who has made major waves with her #HeForShe gender equality campaign, hosted a live Q&A on her Facebook page to address serious issues affecting women around the world.

And loads of other stars tweeted about the day, from sharing inspirational quotes, to celebrating inspiring women in their lives, and using their profiles to raise awareness of certain causes.

VB posted a picture of herself at an AIDS clinic, writing “We must stand up for Women’s rights, education and health. Join me to make change happen. #IWD2015.”

Karlie Kloss and Kristen Bell showed their support of Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s “#NotThere” initiative, where women change their Twitter profile picture to a generic avatar to symbolise how we are "not there yet" with gender equality.

Across the pond, Little Mix wrote on Twitter: "Today is International Women's day! Let's all take a moment to appreciate how far women have come and aspire to keep making positive change."

Josie Gibson tweeted: "Happy International women's day to all me beautiful muckeroonies!! The world would be so rubbish without us...."

And Jessica Wright added: "Happy International Women's day!!!!!! #BeABoss."

And it wasn't just female stars - Jason Manford and Nicholas Hoult were just some of the male celebs tweeting about the day.
