Adam Deacon has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

The BAFTA-winning actor was due to appear in court today, but did not attend Thames Magistrates' Court because "he was too unwell after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act”, according to the Evening Standard.

    Adam – who played Jay in 2006’s* Kidulthood* – is facing charges of affray and possession of an offensive weapon after an incident which took place in Bethnal Green on 6 January. The hearing has now been adjourned until 30 April while he receives treatment.

    Adam won the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2012. He has appeared in a number of films including Kidulthood's follow-up* Adulthood*, Anuvahood and 4.3.2.1.
