Zayn Malik’s producer Naughty Boy opens up about singer’s life after One Direction

When Zayn Malik quit One Direction last month he said he wanted to lead a normal life.

But less than 24 hours after announcing his departure from the band, he was pictured heading into the recording studio, leaving us wondering how ordinary he was planning for his new life to be.

Some 1D fans became annoyed when Zayn’s producer and friend Naughty Boy – real name Shahid Khan – released a teaser of the singer’s new music but now it’s emerged the former boyband star really has been relaxing despite being holed up in the studio.

Since leaving the band, Zayn has been enjoying home cooking and has been watching plenty of late-night movies, telling The Sun on Sunday: “All is good. I’m doing alright.”

On Zayn’s life after 1D, Naughty Boy said: “He just wants to get out of the house and comes [to the studio]. He’s doing things that he hasn’t done for years.

“Coming to the studio is his way of chilling and he’s here with his friends.”

Zayn previously said he was unhappy trying to keep up with his fellow bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – but insists the boys remain the best of friends.

The star said he tried to keep going for as long as possible for the sake of Directioners but decided he had to put himself first in the end.

After leaving the group, he said: “I did try to do something that I wasn’t happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people’s happiness – and that was mainly the fans.

“And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them.”

The musician has not yet confirmed if and when he is going to release any new music but at least he seems to be enjoying himself for now.
