Nick Grimshaw as an X Factor judge. This has been floating about the place for a while. Several months in fact.

And now Louis Walsh has reportedly confirmed the Radio 1 DJ 'has got my job'. WOAH this is huge news. Our X Factor nights in are going to be totally revolutionised. Picture it, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and NICK GRIMSHAW. Too many divas sitting that close to each other could be a recipe for BRILLIANCE.

The 62-year-old told the Daily Star: "He's got my job. I've flat out left. I'm not going back to the show, absolutely gone. I'm pleased as I get to do my actual job now."

"I don't think he realises the hard work he has to put in though. It's going to be hard work for him. You don't just show up. 'It's three or four days a week. You have to mentor, it's a lot of hard work," the original X Factor judge added.

When reports first started flickering about that the 30-year-old could replace Louis, concerns led to the issue of one being an ITV show and Nick already having a contract with the BBC for his radio show.

However Nick admitted: "I wouldn't risk my job on Radio 1 but I think I could do both. I don't see why I couldn't do it. "I don't think it would contradict my show on Radio 1. I think they would complement each other."

Despite Louis' comments a source told the Mirror: "There is a great deal of speculation over the judging line-up for this year's series.

"However, no formal decision has been made regarding the full judging line-up for this year's X Factor."

Previously it was also in speculation that Louis had been sacked. His reponse was: "The truth is I've done it for 11 years, I never thought I would even be on TV for four or five. To get 10 was great, to get 11 was amazing, I'm not hanging around for them this year.

"I haven't been sacked, I can honestly tell you that, but I'm not hanging around for them this year because I want to go back to being a manager. I'm basically going back to my roots, which is the reason I got into this business - music. I love music.”

He insisted: "But I wasn't sacked, I haven't been hired and I'm not hanging around."

In a recent heat interview Grimmy told us he'd love to be a presenter on The X Factor.

Grimmy told heat: "I love The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. You can't not like them.

"Everyone from my coolest friends to my dad watches them. It's common ground."

Do you think Grimmy will make a good X Factor judge?
