It’s claimed that Louis Walsh has been sacked by Simon Cowell in his on-going X Factor shake up.

According to the Sun, Louis has been dropped after Simon realised the audiences were getting tired of the 62-year-old.

“Viewers had become sick of Louis’s constant use of tired clichés and the same old jokes, a show insider told the newspaper. “He’d been doing it for 11 years and it seemed like he was just going through the motions.”

They also report that Simon broke the news to Louis – who’s been on the show since the beginning (that’s 11 years!) – personally.

The insider added: “They are close friends so Simon wanted to do this in the right way. He didn’t want to leave the discussion to executive producer Richard Holloway because that backfired so badly when he sacked Cheryl Fernandez-Versini from X Factor USA in 2011.

“So Simon spoke to Louis and told him that it’s 95 per cent certain that he’ll be ‘stood down’ this year.”

Mel B faced the axe in the shake up and was given the boot by Simon earlier this year.

Others touted to replace Mel and Louis include former judge Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Tomlinson.

The only other judge believed to be safe, alongside Simon, is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini who reportedly signed a big money contract to come back to the show.
