If there’s one thing that ought to get you a Number 1 single quicker than you can say, “Erm, couldn’t get a Number 1 single, could I?” it’s teaming up with a former One Directioner.

And seeing how there’s only one of those – Zayn Malik – you probably know who Rita Ora wants to collaborate with, right?

More news!

The new* X Factor* judge said she wouldn't "say no" to teaming up with the former One Direction star.

Rita – who is currently putting the finishing touches to her second studio album – revealed she would more than happy to work with Zayn, 21, if the track was right because she’s become a big fan since he dyed his hair a similar shade of vibrant green to her boyfriend Ricky Hilfiger earlier this month.

When asked if she would consider recording with lovely Zayn, she said: "Well he does have the same colour hair as my boyfriend. My man had it first.

“You know what, I respect people that work. You know I respect people that do their music. But I'm never gonna say no. You know I love music. It all depends on the song."

The* Poison* star also opened up about working with Ed Sheeran, and said she’s thrilled the BRIT Award-winner wrote a song called Us for her upcoming album.

Speaking to Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on Kiss FM's breakfast show, she said: "It's on my album. It's an amazing record. It's called Us, and it's a beautiful song. And it's a rare light-shade of the record of me actually embracing a good time in my life of love. So it's that."

Rita also unsurprisingly confessed to preferring Katy Perry to rival pop star Taylor Swift, who is currently dating her former flame Calvin Harris.

When asked which of the superstars she preferred, Rita said: "Katy Perry. All day. Only because I know her personally!"

Is that really the only reason, Rita?
