Simon Cowell says Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw joining X Factor is “nothing to do with money”

Well that's nice, isn't it?

Unless you've been locked in the Big Brother house, stranded on Love Island or in a catatonic stupor following last night's Game of Thrones finale (sob), you'll have heard that Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora have been 100 per cent definitely confirmed as the new judges on The X Factor. Now Simon Cowell has insisted that the new line-up is NOTHING to do with money.

During This Morning, erm, this morning, Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden text high-trousered millionaire about the breaking news.

She said: "I've got a message on my phone, and I'm more surprised he's replied to be honest!

"He has said about it - 'I'm very happy, they were all agreed because of their excitement for the show and how much they want to find someone special. Nobody has signed up for the money, it was passion for being on *The X Factor*.'"

AHH, isn't that lovely? Saying that, we're sure none of the new judges are doing the show for peanuts (although we would be severely tempted, we love peanuts and pistachios and macadamia nuts, sorry, we're hungry), and their new high-profile jobs are sure to bag them loads more dosh.

But thankfully, they also just love The X Factor and want to find someone really good at singing. Let's hope Rita has better luck than she did on The Voice, eh? Is there any decent singers left in Britain? Maybe we've just run out?

Caroline Flack, who is the new co-host with Olly Murs, said: "I think it's young, fresh, relevant... and I think [this] one big change will make it really interesting again.

"He (Grimmy) knows what's going on in music at the minute more than anyone else.

"He knows what sells, he knows what gets radio play and I think he's also got a great sense of humour... I think he's going to be brilliant."

She added: "Rita is one of the biggest-selling artists, she's lovely, she's been on the show before, she knows it and she loves it, which is great."

One thing is for sure, we can't wait to see the pair join the judging panel, hopefully it'll give* X Factor* a much-needed breath of fresh air.
