Stephen Fry and Elliot Spencer had to cut their honeymoon short after the couple faced issues because of their sexuality.
After they wed in January, the pair had spent months planning their dream trip to South America. At the time, Stephen, 57, said of their plans, “We’re planning a huge adventure. We’re delaying our honeymoon so I can relax for longer.”

But sadly, the trip was cut short. In Honduras, although homosexuality is not illegal, gay marriage is banned and according to recent reports the country has “widespread disdain for homosexuals”.
“We had a problem when we visited Honduras on holiday,” Elliot, 27, told the Mail. “It was homophobia. I don’t want to go into detail, but we had to leave.”
Despite this experience the pair are planning to continue on their travels around the world. Elliot added: “Many of the countries Stephen's been to before, but he likes to see them through new eyes with me.
“It has been an amazing bonding experience. Last year, we did most of Europe, then we went to America.”
