Ashley Cole got punched in the face by a PLAYBOY model last night

Remember Ashley Cole? Remember when Ashley Cole was a thing? Yeah, neither does anyone else. Anyway, former ‘thing’ Ashley Cole got punched in the face by a Playboy model last night, and it was all sort of Drake’s fault.

The footballer was partying at London club Tramp in the early hours of this morning when the ‘tussle’ occurred – with model Carla Howe throwing three punches at him in retaliation for the way he’d behaved towards her twin sister Melissa back when they were dating.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Carla explained why she’d done it.

“He was trying to get up in my face, and I didn’t know what was going on.

“I was scared, so I punched him. I was wearing a ring and hit him three times in the jaw. Afterwards he was shouting, ‘She’s busted my lip’,” she went on.

But that’s not all - it started when Drake, who’s in London at the moment, invited Carla to Tramp, because apparently they’re friends? And that’s where she saw Ashley.

“My friends said [Ashley] kept looking over at me,” she continued. “I think he is jealous that I’m friends with Drake because he is obsessed with rap music and wants to be a singer.” Amazing.

“It was fine for the first few hours, but then we left the room – that is when Ashley followed me into the foyer. In the end, Drake’s friends took me away from it,” Carla added.

After the brawl – can we dub it a brawl if it’s just one person punching a footballer in the face? – Carla took to Twitter to regale her followers with her actions.

In a since-deleted message, she tweeted: “Happy I just punched up @therealAC3 long awaited.”

Incredibly, Ashley has actually publicly acknowledged what happened in the early hours of this morning, tweeting his mate:
