Katie Hopkins has paid tribute to the late Apprentice star Stuart Baggs, who was found dead at an address on the Isle of Man yesterday.
Writing in her Sun column, Katie said she had met the 27-year-old reality star a few times, even though they didn’t appear in the same cycle – Katie originally went on the 2007 show, while Stuart was part of the 2010 line-up.
Katie wrote: “I think the distance between Stuart the brand and Stuart the man was vast.
“Without a family or kids who need you, the media can be a tough industry to work in. It may seem glamorous or exciting, but kids couldn’t care less about that.”
She went on to admit hers only ring to ask what’s for dinner, or where their favourite toy is.
“Sometimes you need the mundane in life to remind you that what matters most is not being seen as successful, but helping the people you love the most to be OK,” she added.
Katie’s tribute comes after Alan Sugar’s, who said: “Terrible news Stuart Baggs has died. My sincere condolences to his family and friends RIP one of the stand out characters of the apprentice.”
Fellow Apprentice contestant Luisa Zussman tweeted her thoughts too, saying Stuart had now “joined the 27 club”.
Stuart had been celebrating his birthday this week and was even seen the night before his death by friends.
A police spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Stuart’s passing, adding that it was “a sudden unexplained death with no criminal element to it at all”.
