Why are we not surprised this procedure exists in the world? You can CLONE YOUR PET DOG. Does this include other animals as well?

And with this available, at a costly price, Simon Cowell wants to clone his little pet pooches, Squiddly and Diddly.

The X Factor boss is reportedly scared of losing his beloved doggies and is looking into a South Korean cloning company, Sooam Biotech, in order to make doubles of his Yorkshire Terriers.

A source told The Mirror: ''He has briefed aides and they are looking to see whether Sooam is a viable option.''Sooam seems to be the only plausible company at the moment and Simon is expecting a report back soon from his aides confirming whether it's a goer.''

The company cloned Britain's first dog last year and it wasn't cheap. It'll cost the 55-year-old, who shares the pups with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, £60,000 per furry friend.

''Money is not an issue. Simon is determined to make it happen.

''Clearly, Simon wants to make sure that any cloning procedure is above board and safe for the dog. That's very much his priority,'' the source continued.

Recently the music mogul inherited his late mum Julie's dog Freddy, also a Yorkshire Terrier, when she passed away just over a fortnight ago.

This isn't the first time Simon has thought about cloning his pets.

October Last year, he told The Guardian "I have thought about cloning my dogs, actually,” before suggesting that while people would certainly talk about a dog-cloning show, that’s no guarantee that they’d actually watch it.

Keep Your Dog Alive was the central topic of discussion at last year's MIPCOM television industry conference in Cannes.

It’s a game-show format where six dog owners compete for the grand prize of having their pet cloned before it dies.

Simon was at the event representing some of his own reality TV shows.
