On Saturday 29th August the 12th series of *The X Factor *is due to start, which for most of us will mark the end of the summer and the countdown to Christmas begins. Yes this is probably our first article mentioning CHRISTMAS.

And it seems the ITV show's boss, Simon Cowell, has some competition, from his son Eric, as to who is really running the show.

With love from Sardinia, Simon posted several holiday snaps to his Twitter account, showing off that it *is *actually *still * summer (phew) and that his one-year-old is the real person calling the shots.

TOP NEWS

The 55-year-old is sunning himself with Eric and girlfriend Lauren Silverman frolicking on a fancy pants yacht before the ITV singing contest airs again.

Simon joked to his 12 million followers, firstly by saying "Eric. Daddy is the boss" quickly followed by, "Ok. You're the boss". While Eric was tickling his dad's chin, which is so cute and so boss-like.

And the couple's toddler has proven he is the cutest at eating watermelon.

We love how the dad-of-one is open to sharing this adorable snaps of him and Eric.

So here's a gallery of their most recent shots together. Enjoy.
