Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Call The Midwife’s Helen George joins the line-up

She’s best known for her role as the sassy Trixie in hit BBC1 drama Call The Midwife, but Helen George is now hoping to win over more fans with her American Smooth.

The actress is the 13th celebrity to have signed up to Strictly Come Dancing, and her name was announced this evening at the Edinburgh TV Festival.

Speaking about the upcoming show, Helen said: “I'm really excited to be joining Strictly.

“I know it's going to be a challenge and if I'm honest I'm slightly terrified, but I can't wait to get my tan and sequins on!”

She’ll be joining Jamelia, Ainsley Harriott, Jay McGuiness, Georgia May Foote, Peter Andre, Jeremy Vine, Kellie Bright, Katie Derham, Carol Kirkwood, Daniel O’Donnell, Anthony Ogogo and Anita Rani for the autumn programme.

There are still two more celebrities to be announced for the line-up. They will both be revealed tomorrow night on The One Show, starting at 7pm on BBC1.
