Zayn Malik had a bit of a falling out with former fellow One Direction member Louis Tomlinson after he left the band leaving us wondering if there was more to Zayn’s departure than he was letting on.
But it seems all is well between the boys now – Zayn has congratulated his former bandmates on their new track.
The remaining 1D lads – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – surprised fans by releasing new single Drag Me Down and it seems Zayn is just as happy about it as Directioners.
Late on Saturday night, he tweeted: “Proud of my boys the new single is sick. Big love. :) x.”
The band has done no promotion for their new song and it has been released around the world on Spotify and iTunes.
Breaking the news, Liam tweeted: “Bit of a surprise! Check out our new single! It’s called Drag me Down & I hope you love it as much as we do.”
Louis added: “Thank you for all your constant support. Hopefully you love it, we’re proud of it :).”
And Niall wrote: “Finally we get to say this! Have waited a long time but our new single Drag Me Down is out!!!”
Clearly the fans were just excited as within an hour the song had made it to the number one spot on the iTunes chart.
