Nick Grimshaw’s X Factor category set to be disappointed with his judges’ house location

The hopefuls usually jet off abroad but some won't be visiting anywhere exotic this year

One of the many, many perks of making it through to the later stages of the X Factor audition process is getting to go to an exotic location during the judges’ houses part of the show.

However, the boys this year aren’t in much luck after landing Nick Grimshaw as their judge.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ will be heading to Greater Manchester to pick who to take through to the live finals while Rita Ora takes her girls to Los Angeles and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini takes the groups to Rome.

A source told the Sunday People: “[Nick] is in the studio every morning Monday to Friday so has to get back quickly after X Factor filming.

“They’ve plumped for Greater Manchester as Nick grew up in Oldham and the area is close to his heart.

“It’s lovely but not exactly what most of the boys will be expecting.”

The insider added: “The girls will be in the lap of luxury, it’ll definitely make the boys jealous.”

It has apparently not yet been decided where Simon Cowell will be taking his category but he will have One Direction star Louis Tomlinson alongside him to help him make his choices.

The judges’ houses round was originally planned to be live but it has since been scrapped and will be filmed beforehand while the contestants and their families will watch back in London as the judges confirm who is going through.

Poor Rita must've accidentally got stuck in a door or been attacked by a pack of dogs on the way to the auditions. We can think of no other possible explanation for that missing sleeve
