X Factor bosses have decided to scrap their ambitious plans for a live weekend of Judges’ Houses – because the weather would be too unpredictable for live TV.

According to the Mirror, the judges will instead have to pre-record the next stage of the competition from their houses abroad, but the show will be mostly based back in London.

A source from the show told the newspaper: “We’ve always planned to have a live element to Judges’ Houses, to give it more tension and drama. The biggest part of the show is the contestants’ reactions - finding out whether they have made it to the live shows and learning who the final 12 are.

“Now that we are finalising our plans this will all happen live from the studio in Wembley with all the judges and the contestants together, along with their friends and family,” the insider continued.

“For the rest of the show we are going to pre-record the contestants performing on location, as logistically and technically this will give us the best show for viewers.”

Hmm. Won’t be quite as exciting though, will it? We would’ve preferred to see the likes of Grimmy battling drunken revellers in the street outside his mum’s house in Oldham while his acts desperately keep singing straight into the camera.

    Alright Reet, simmer down love

Or Simon Cowell’s dogs, Squiddly and Diddly, wrestling with a pair of his grungy old Y-fronts while he tries to grab them.

THAT would have been excellent live telly.
