Yesterday we reported how Big Brother’s Sallie Axl had slammed an NHS hospital after going through a traumatic miscarriage and being handed her baby’s remains in a plastic bag.

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, which treated Sallie back in July, has now provided a statement about the case, and apologised to Sallie.

“Although we are unable to comment on individual cases due to patient confidentiality, we are very proud of our services to support women who have undergone a miscarriage and are really very sorry if this has not been the case on this occasion,” a spokesperson told heat.

“Unfortunately the family have not contacted us directly, and we would encourage them to make contact with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service so we can address any concerns on 0161 276 8686.”

Sallie has since tweeted the hospital to say she has tried calling the helpline three times, but wasn’t able to get through.

She also cleared up the timings of her treatment, confirming that she was over 12 weeks pregnant and had already had her scan.

After she sadly miscarried earlier this year, Sallie alleges that the foetus wasn’t removed, which led to infection.

She then suffered a major haemorrhage and needed emergency surgery to save her life.

“I have only just started coming to terms with this ordeal and will finally be laying her to rest this week,” Sallie wrote on Instagram yesterday.

“Please stop this happening in hospitals. It just about ruined my life.”
