Police reportedly want to speak to Jim Carrey following the death of his girlfriend Cathriona White.

The Irish make-up artist, 30, was found dead at her home in Los Angeles on Monday. It is thought she committed suicide.

Actor Jim, 53, and Cathriona had been dating on and off for the last two years.

She was found dead by friends this week after apparently overdosing on three different medicines which allegedly had the name of a fictitious male on the bottle.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they would like to speak with Jim but it is not suggested he was involved in any wrongdoing in connection with the death.

In a statement after the sad news broke on Tuesday, Jim said: “She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.

“My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”

Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told People: “It was reported as a possible suicide.

“There evidently was a note found. There were pills located near her. [The] final cause of death won’t be released until we get full toxicology and tests back.”
