After a short break from her music career in 2013, Selena Gomez has revealed she had undergone a course of chemotherapy, after being diagnosed with lupus.

The actress/singer had to cancel her Australia and Asia tour at the time, which led to reports claiming she had gone into rehab related to "drink or drugs".

The 23-year-old spoke about that time and told Billboard: "I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke."
