Simon Cowell says that Louis Walsh is the “most popular person in the UK” (much to his surprise)

Is somebody jealous?

It was the end of an era when we found out that Louis Walsh would not be returning to the X Factor for 2015, but clearly boss-man Simon Cowell thought he was making a sensible, considered decision to let him go. He’s not quite as cool-and-hip as Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, right? RIGHT?

Wrong! Because Simon Cowell has spoken up about his old Irish pal, saying Louis is the most popular man in the UK right now.

He told The Sun:

"I spoke to Louis and I said, 'I don't know what has happened but you are suddenly the most popular person in this country'. And he said, 'I know'.”

Simon continued: "I can't explain it. I think people obviously miss him. For Louis' sake it has been good for him not being on the show and seeing how much people like him."

Look at that cheeky grin!
Look at that cheeky grin!

"I think it also woke him up a bit. He was the first to say and me as well that I don't think we were totally on top of our game."

It’s been speculated again and again the loveable former Westlife manager (AS IF he’d let us forget it) will be returning to make a guest appearance on this year’s show.

But without giving up all the gos, Si said:

"There is also something else which we haven't announced yet which will make the logic of having a fifth judge."

Oh, INTRIGUING! Always keeping us on our toes.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini

Super-slim Chez rocked a 60s vibe in scalloped Red Valentino, Mary-Janes and a bouffy beehive.

Caroline Flack2 of 4

Caroline Flack

Fresh from crowning Max and Jess winners of Love Island Caz Flack got her (very good) legs out in a leather mini and hipster Bella Freud knit. We love this hair style on Flack, so fun.

Rochelle Humes3 of 4

Rochelle Humes

How babe-in did Rochelle look in her orange suede Victoria Beckham dress? Expertly styled- up with a skinny black belt and strappies. Our fave.

Rita Ora4 of 4

Rita Ora

A loud Versace mini with sequins and pointy stilettos gave Rita a totally 80s feel. That sleek high pony works, too.
