Jasmin Walia planning music career: “My sound is commercial pop with a bit of hop-hop”

She didn’t exactly win over The X Factor judges when all four said “no” during her audition last year but Jasmin Walia is determined to succeed in music.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Jasmin has been holed up in the recording studio laying down some tracks and it seems she’s finally found her sound.

The reality star told the Daily Star Sunday: “I’ve been in the studio and I’m working on some material. My sound is commercial pop with a bit of hop-hop. Music is one of my main focuses.”

Jasmin’s X Factor experience didn’t deter her although she previously said she didn’t believe the judges’ claims they’d never heard of her ITVBe show.

She told Mirror Online: “I’m sure they had heard of TOWIE. I think they did grill me a bit because of who I am but I couldn’t talk back to them at the time because I respect people.

“The X Factor was brutal but I just tried to take it all on the chin. I don’t regret it.”

Jasmin is happy to move away from the drama of TOWIE and into music, and is now keeping her eye on a number of potential future projects.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I was always trying to defend myself [on TOWIE]. I don’t even know where most of the arguments came from – it was all a bit pointless. There was a lot of unnecessary drama.”
