Ah, Mason Noise, you remember him, right? He was given the boot from The X Factor on Saturday night. He’s the one that threw his microphone to the ground and stormed off the stage when Simon Cowell asked him to calm down during the Six Chair Challenge.

Well, he was never going to leave the show quietly, was he? The aspiring pop star appeared to take a dig at the ITV talent contest when it was announced he’d been voted off last night.

Mason was a victim of the flash vote which saw the contestant with the least amount of votes from the public eliminated instantly at the end of the show.

And despite host Caroline Flack saying she was “absolutely gutted” to see him go, Mason didn’t seem to be too disappointed, and hinted he was happy to be set free from the series.

He said: “Thank you to everyone who voted, and thank you to everyone who didn’t vote as well.

“I’m going to go do my thing now.”

Tweeting the following morning, he wrote: “RELIEVED”

Mason has made no secret of his issues with The X Factor in the past and previously argued with judge Simon about how much air time he was given for his original audition.

The singer said: “The first audition I watched on Saturday, people had 10 minute slots. And I went to 47 seconds,” before throwing his microphone to the floor and storming off.

He previously criticised judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in 2013, when he tweeted: “How is Cheryl in the music business, let alone a judge...?”

On the show itself, he wrote: “X Factor tonight. Like the industry isn’t bad enough...”

Despite Mason’s criticism of the show, his mentor Nick Grimshaw had nothing but good things to say about him.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ tweeted: “Gutted to lose Mason but so happy I got to meet him, work with him and become his friend. I’m such a fan. Love you pal @itsmasonnoise.”
