Britney Spears engaged to be MARRIED? What the HELL?!

News has just filtered in from the US that Britney Spears is engaged to be married. Yes, engaged to be MARRIED! The star has reportedly accepted a proposal from her former boyfriend John Sundahl, whom she first dated back in 2007. A "source" claiming to be close to the couple, says, "Britney and John used to date, but they reconnected after her show in New Jersey, and now they’re engaged. He got down on one knee in a Subway sandwich shop in Santa Monica a week ago and proposed." A Subway sandwich shop? Hmm. We smell a fib. The wedding is said to be planned for six weeks time, and will take place on a German farm. A farm? Now we're really raising our eyebrows. However, when questioned about his involvement with Britney, 40-year-old real-estate millionaire John replied, "Britney doesn’t want to do anything until the tour is over. She wants press for her tour and not for an engagement." What a puzzling story. We'll do our best to get to the bottom of this and get back to you.

Update: According to a spokesperson for Britney Spears, she is definitely "not engaged" and was "not proposed to in Subway". Well, we're relieved about the second part. Still, it wouldn't be the first slightly crazy wedding plans Britney had made...
