Amy's dad turns his back as her boozing gets out of control

Amy Winehouse's dad Mitch says he will "walk away" from his daughter if she doesn't sort out her problems with alcohol. Talking about the troubled singer in a new documentary, Mitch says that although he's proud of Amy for finally ditching the drugs, he fears that she will go down a similar road now with the booze. "After she almost died twice from drug-related problems, to see her walking, smiling – she has progressed so much," he says. "But now, if it's alcohol instead of hard drugs – I don't think I can go through that again. I've decided to distance myself, and whatever happens, happens." Mitch's comments come in the wake of yet another disastrous comeback performance by Amy – this time in her beloved St Lucia. The star stumbled around on stage, slurred her words and swore at the audience when they began booing her. In the past few months, she has also been spotted "crawling" along the floor at her hotel resort and has "begged" holidaymakers for booze. Mitch says Amy herself is the only person who can stop the drinking. We hope she manages it – and soon.

I do believe him trying to control Amy hasn't helped her. He may have seen it as helping but i didn't.

ARGH stupid work getting in the way! I won't argue coz I like you guys, I just wish you weren't so quick to judge people. She clearly has mental issues - you don't slice your skin for the fun of it. Just remember no-one DECIDES to become an addict

there's gonna have to be some agreeing to disagree here... I personally can't sympathise with people who take drugs... No matter what their reason as there is no excuse. You are obviously a lot more understanding richie....

well no matter how fucked up my life has been, and there have been some damn traumatic times, i have never been tempted to turn to drugs. as i said, they must have very low self opinion to do drugs, when a psychiatrist would do better
