Amy's dad turns his back as her boozing gets out of control

Amy Winehouse's dad Mitch says he will "walk away" from his daughter if she doesn't sort out her problems with alcohol. Talking about the troubled singer in a new documentary, Mitch says that although he's proud of Amy for finally ditching the drugs, he fears that she will go down a similar road now with the booze. "After she almost died twice from drug-related problems, to see her walking, smiling – she has progressed so much," he says. "But now, if it's alcohol instead of hard drugs – I don't think I can go through that again. I've decided to distance myself, and whatever happens, happens." Mitch's comments come in the wake of yet another disastrous comeback performance by Amy – this time in her beloved St Lucia. The star stumbled around on stage, slurred her words and swore at the audience when they began booing her. In the past few months, she has also been spotted "crawling" along the floor at her hotel resort and has "begged" holidaymakers for booze. Mitch says Amy herself is the only person who can stop the drinking. We hope she manages it – and soon.

It must be really hard for any parent to walk away from a child but he is right - she can only help herself. if Mitch did walk it may be the wake up call she needs to make her realise what she's lost and sort herself out.

I do ultimate, but when you're full of self-loathing and your mental state is so bad that you end up on heroin, you don't really value what you have do you?

Yeah but its life people need to go on journeys to make there life worth while its sad and its true, but its life, in her head, this is the only way she can live, its not like she just one day was this way it was a long road!

Henrietta do you not think there's thousands of terminally ill people who would value the healthy body she is so selfishly destroying... She lost her talent along with the respect people had for her a long time ago....

Well it's becoming obvious innit, Wino's Dad must have a Heat interview coming up or they wouldn't be bannering every negative comment posted about him.
