Singing I Kissed A Girl propelled Katy Perry into the upper regions of stardom, but not everyone is a fan of the song – or of her, for that matter. Gossip singer Beth Ditto expressed her dislike of the track in a new interview with Attitude magazine, saying about the tune, "Ugh, it's so annoying, it's music for men; that is not a song for dykes. Oh God, it's hideous and tacky." The band's drummer Hannah Billie was even less gracious in her assessment of Ms Perry, saying bluntly, "I hate Katy Perry. She's offensive to gay culture. I seriously want to start a feud with her, like one of those band feuds. I really hate her. We call girls like that boner dykes. Just straight girls who like to turn guys on by making out or faking gay!" Crikey. We're actually a bit afraid on Katy's behalf, although we do love a good old slangfest. Katy, over to you...

That's so stupid - Katy is a lot more successful than them, and they might not like the song but it's probably Katy's most famous song!

I can see why the song could be seen as kinda offensive when you think about how it seems to glorify the notion of "going gay" and the idea it's something you can just turn on and off for thrills. I'd have thought "UR So Gay" was more "tacky" though.
