Who is really to blame for the Su-Bo breakdown?

Those working on Britain's Got Talent have maintained since the weekend that Susan Boyle's rumoured breakdown is not the fault of the show. Piers pointed the finger of blame firmly at the papers this morning, saying, "I must say to my old friends in Fleet Street, to be taking the high moral ground when it's their coverage that really upset her, I find a bit laughable really. You know what guys, I get it, I used to be one of you. So if you're looking for blame here, look in your own back yard." He then went on to assure listeners on Radio 1 that Susan herself wasn't "as bad as people thought" and that "the whole thing has been a bit of a soap opera". Meanwhile, Amanda Holden has been answering questions about Su-Bo over in the States – and she shares Piers' opinion. "We are a very loyal show, we love Susan very much," she told Larry King. "It was just in the last week that the downturn in press in our country I think maybe stressed her out a little bit and I think she was just quite upset by all the exaggerated stories and falsehoods that were written about her." Susan Boyle has been invited to sing for President Barack Obama on 4 July, but her brother has warned she may not recover in time. "She's been battered non-stop for the last seven weeks and it has taken its toll," he explained. "But she'll be looking forward now to the Fourth of July." Who do YOU think is to blame for what's happened to Su-Bo?

Who's to blame? The media that's who! Why oh why do they (HW inc) love to build people up and then knock them down again. You lot had here flying up so high (for all the wrong reasons)! and then decided to let her come crashing back down to earth.

They said she wasn't well form day one and she has learning difficulties. Any person without those things would have a hard time coping, her family should have put their foot down. media love breaking people down, and unfortunately she is no exception

I think thats unfair to say she should've expected it. I don't know what she did to deserve backlash like that, and I'm sure none of us, least Susan herself ,expected the amount of exposure she's received. It seemed she just wanted to sing.
