It has just been announced that Sir Alan Sugar has been given a new enterprise role in government. The Apprentice boss will be nominated for a seat in the House of Lords, allowing him to become a member of government and work on a scheme to help struggling businesses. Sir Alan said of the appointment, "I'm doing it because of the need of the country. It's not political. People with small businesses need help." He went on to suggest that many people working in the economy lacked actual experience of building up a business, and in this area he is an expert. He is a big supporter of the current PM Gordon Brown, urging voters to "keep him in place" at the next election. It is not know at this stage what will happen to The Apprentice *trembles tearfully with fear*, but we assume working for the government is a very demanding job. We can only hope and pray that the series continues. For now though, we'll just say a huge congratulations to Sir Alan. Do you like the idea of the grumpy grizzly working in government?
