Madonna must be doing cartwheels wherever she is. The star has today been told that she will be allowed to adopt Malawian tot Mercy James. The singer had appealed a decision to block her bid back in April, with her lawyer saying the adoption laws of the country were "outdated". Appeal courts said that the original ruling had not taken into account Madonna's dedication to helping disadvantaged children. Chief justice Lovemore Munlo praised Madonna's interest in helping Malawi orphans and said the child would have a better life with the star. It was also noted that she was financially stable." Mercy's 18-year-old mum died just after giving birth to the tot. She will now have a new life in America, and a new family.

Absolutely ridiculous, if she wasn't loaded they would have said no!Also, why do celebs insist on adopting from foreign countries, there's plenty of children in their own countries who need adopting,

I'm sure the lil girl will have a better life with madonna but couldn't she have helped a lot more children by building orphanages or donating some of her millions to help equip hospitals and provide better care for young mothers.
