American Idol contestant killed in hit-and-run

One of American Idol's most famously furious contestants was tragically found dead this weekend, following a suspected hit-and-run incident in New Jersey. Alexis Cohen, who was just 25, was found dead by police on Saturday morning, and they are now referring to her death as a "homicide". The feisty hopeful famously got into a big row with Simon Cowell after he criticised her audition, saying, "How DARE you?!" when he joked that she was like the baddie from Spider-Man. She had previously told the judges that she "marched to the beat of a different drummer", and following her audition she appeared on a number of US talk shows.
