BBC denies losing any big names from Strictly line-up

Speculation earlier today that this year's Strictly Come Dancing was facing problems – after two big names dropped out of the show over money “issues” – has been rubbish by the BBC. The broadcaster has denied that Richard Madeley and Sharon Osbourne were ever even lined up to take part in the show, with a spokesperson explaining, “It's a very lengthy selection procedure, because we have to get the right mix of people involved. That can start with anything from simple questions like, 'Are you interested?' or 'Would you be free on these dates?' But that is never any guarantee we will take on these people. We have never signed Osbourne or Madeley." A spokesman for Richard also contacted heatworld directly to set the record straight, explaining that Richard has other work commitments that would prevent him from taking part on Strictly. Well, that clears that lot up then, doesn’t it? But while we’re on the subject of Strictly contestants, who would you like to see trussed up in spandex and sequins this year?

The sacking of Arlene has created more publicity for Strictly than could be imagined and it would not surprise me if she is back, maybe not for this coming series, but the next.

I'd like to see Paul O Gardy doing it he'd just have 1 big laugh if you ask me. Also Peter Kay would be fun to watch.
