There's been speculation for some time over whether or not Paula Abdul would be returning for the new series of American Idol, but today she's made it very clear she won't be. Turning to her Twitter page to break the news, Paula wrote, "With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all, being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon." It was rumoured that Paula was never offered a new contract, but she makes no mention of this in her statement, going on to say, "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all." So WHY did she go? Hmmm. According to the show, it was all her decision, and they have since said: "Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show." So, was it a dispute over pay? An unrequited crush on Simon Cowell? Just pure boredom? Maybe we'll find out one day. Will you miss Paula's brilliantness on the show?

I hope that Cara(?) isn't going to be back either, Really can't stand her.! I did like Paula for the comic value and I will miss her this series.!

I'm glad she's gone. She's a talented choreographer, not a singer, so I thought a singing competition wasn't her forte. Plus she seemed so out of it most of the time it made for cringy viewing.
