What do YOU think of the new X Factor format?

Messing with the super-successful and much-loved format of The X Factor was always going to be risky, but do you think Cowell and co made the right decision making the hopefuls audition in front of a live audience? We can't deny that Saturday's launch show was a-mazing – especially Danyl, who we'll probably be talking about all day today – but we do admit we missed the intimacy of the previous audition process, when it was just a shabby room at a conference centre with the judges and a few cameras. Of course, whoever goes on to win The X Factor must be able to cope with a large crowd, so in a way it makes sense to test the hopefuls at this early stage. However, having a live audience there does mean the judges are saying much less, and it's the banter between them that we're partly – if not mostly – tuning in to watch. So, do YOU think the new, Britain's Got Talent-type format is a winner, or are you missing those early auditions? Vote below, and tell us your thoughts.

the intimate auditions were much better. this just reminds me too much of BGT. thats a totally different show so they should keep the formats different!! seem to not have as much time for all the contestants though...or is that just me?

Why did they mess with it? the brilliance of the nervous contestant infront of the judges and blossoming has now gone.danyl gave a performance, what's to look forward to? ?they could have changed it sm other way.what do contestants look forward to??

im on the fence. we dont hear the singing voice quite so well with baking track and crowd. but performance potential can be really shown off. dont think danyl would have stood out quite so much without the stage and audience
