When we heard that James Michael Tyler (aka Gunther from Friends) himself was going to attend the 15th anniversary of Friends party at the specially created Central Perk coffee house last night, we made sure we were first on the guestlist – and we weren't the only ones. A host of stars including Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh, Scott Mills, Peaches Geldof, Chloe Madeley, Arelene Phillips, Craig Revel-Horwood and Mat Horne made the trip into town to shake Gunther by the hand, and check out all the amazing Friends memorabilia flown in just for the event. We were lucky enough to have some one-on-one time with James (he even sent his first ever Tweet via heatworld), and couldn't wait to ask him if there was any truth in the rumours about a Friends movie. "Every year there's rumours flying around," he told us. "I haven't been told anything, but if something came up I'd be happy to revisit the role of Gunther. Hopefully he wouldn't be so strange." When we asked James what he imagined Gunther would be up to all these years later, he told us, "He'd probably have a very traditional marriage, with lots of white-haired babies running around with hair brighter than the sun." James told us he still regularly bumps into Jen, Matt, David and the rest of the friends cast, telling us, "LA is a small town, you're constantly running into people." We loved James. And we loved both Mat Horne and Sophie Ellis Bextor being on the decks. Oh, and we have to give special mention to Chloe Madeley who told us some secrets about Robert Pattinson AND made us laugh our head off – amazing! Take a look through our gallery and then tell us YOUR favourite Friends moment.
Central Perk London (67 Broadwick Street, London, WIF) will be open to the public from Thursday 24 September – Thursday 7 October from 9am to 6pm daily, except on Monday 28 Sep, when it will close at 4pm.
